Porath establishes office in Poland
Porath Customs Agents now has a presence in Poland as well.
Hamburg, 1. September 2011
The company Porath Customs Agents Sp. z o.o. with its location in the harbor city Gdynia, is a bona fide subsidiary of Porath GmbH Customs Agents.
This is how the Hamburg customs experts has responded to the ever increasing demand for professional customs management by our largest East-European neighbor.
Porath has been building a strong business relationship with the Polish market since August 2008 − and successfully: Growth in this area has been rapid.
Compared to 2008, Porath´s revenue has shown a 260 percent increase in 2010. "In the recent years, more and more clients from Poland have chosen us", said Thorsten Porath, the managing partner of Porath Customs Agents.
"Founding our own company directly on site seemed like the logical conclusion to us. We really like to be where our clients are."
The new Porath office is centrally located in the harbor city of Gdynia, in the Bay of Gdansk. Gdynia, together with Gdansk and Sopot, make up the economic tri-cities region.
Due to the direct access to the Baltic Sea, this city offers various logistic advantages to many companies.
Gdynia is the main import harbor for goods coming out of Asia and America to Europe, often surpassing Hamburg and Rotterdam in importance.
Even quicker logistic processes
Porath Customs Agents office in Poland offers its entire range of services.
This is especially important for things like fiscal representation to speed up logistic processes: By using Porath, a registered fiscal representative, logistics can be taken care of much quicker for those EU commercial companies, which do not have offices in Germany.
And communication is also simplified: all of the Porath employees at the Gdynia office speak both Polish and German.
"Satisfying the individual needs of our customers is very important to us", says Adriana Konat, the office advisor and business development manger for Poland.
"There are many ways in which the Polish market differs from the German. For example, customers expect a much higher level of service."
Think globally − operate locally
For 2011, Porath expects another increase in revenue with the company developments in Poland.
"Now we can really get going and start offering our Polish customers even better service", says Thorsten Porath.
"Working closely with our customers is also geographic, being face to face. In today´s world of online communication, personal contact is especially valuable.
However, logistics thrives on globalization, virtual relationships are the norm. Understanding the local mentality and uniqueness is important, and this is done best on site."
In addition to the office in Gdynia, Porath established an office at Frankfurt Airport in 2006 and in 2008 one in Bremerhaven. The family company´s main office has been in Hamburg since its establishment in 1985.
